It is also used in the preparation of 2-aminoquinolines as melanin concentrating hormone receptor (MCH-1R) antagonists. Additionally, it is used in the preparation of cycloalkyl, lactam, lactone, and related compounds for inhibiting β-​amyloid peptide release and/or its synthesis.
