Diclofenac is the first non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is derived from phenylacetic acid. Diclofenac, like other NSAIDs, primarily works by targeting the cyclo-oxygenase pathway in the arachidonic acid cascade, reducing the formation of inflammation mediators in the body.
